  The Brinton Silent Film Project features Red Cedar Trio members, flutist Jan Boland, guitarist John Dowdall and cellist Carey Bostian, performing live to accompany an exceptionally rare and unique collection of silent films from 1895-1910. Film owner and historian Michael Zahs will also provide a historical narration about the films. The concert features music by Harvey Sollberger, which accompanies four of the films. Master Gardeners Annual Tomato Taste

Johnson County Master Gardeners will host its fifth annual Tomato Taste. The public is invited to attend and taste red, orange, green, yellow, striped and even blue tomatoes. Held outdoors under the historic Plum Grove oak trees. Tasting will begin at 1 p.m. Participants will learn the latest information on tomato nutrition, saving seed and growing tomatoes. Plum Grove Historic Home will be open to tour during this event.
